This week in Equity Unbound, we are looking at the “open web for the vulnerable.” One of the activities was a Twitter scavenger hunt. We were asked to tweet a mystery object and respond to someone else who posted an object.
Another task was for us to watch the videos posted by the instructors in which they address accessibly of the open web for vulnerable populations.
These were the instructions: A lot of times the web isn’t equally accessible to those who are more vulnerable. In response, please tweet a quote from one of the videos along with your own thought or comment — or tweet a question directly to the speaker regarding a selected quote.
We were also asked to take a look at the following tweet and post a response.
As it turns out, @hypervisible teaches at a school back home in Michigan that I taught at as well. The Internet/tech can indeed be invasive and has issues with accessibility, among all the other obstacles and challenges, but it is kind of amazing at the same time too.
